How To Improve Your Golf Swing

How to improve golf swing GuideThe key factor in your golf game is your swing.  If you hit a bad shot it probably  because something in your swing was off.

Which brings me to one of the most widely asked questions in golf, “how to improve your golf swing?”

There are a lot of factors that go into the golf swing, making it harder than most beginners think.

The Simple Golf Swing Guide

When you swing your club, almost every part of your body is in some way connected to the success of the swing and each of your body parts has a different action it must complete.

In order for the swing to be a success each body part not only has to act its own part, but also react to the other parts in a timely manner.

A good example is that your hips and arms should do a different motion in your back swing, but at the same time they must work together in order for the swing to be a success.

In order to learn how to improve golf swing you must first understand the different parts of the swing.  Each of these aspects will be discussed in more detail later on.

Aspects of a Golf Swing

  • Golf swing stance / Posture
  • Proper golf grip
  • Golf swing takeaway (backswing)
  • Golf downswing
  • Golf hip turn
  • Golf shoulder turn
  • Golf swing weight shift
  • Club head speed
  • Follow Through

The swing is based off of the above aspects; however everyone has their own unique golf swing style.

To have the perfect swing for every club is nearly impossible, even professional golfers on the PGA do not have a perfect swing.

In fact, the only person who has been classified as having a perfect golf swing was Ben Hogan.  Ben actually made some pretty good swing training materials explaining how to improve your golf swing, by giving you a step by step guide to the perfect swing, check it out:

So since there are so many different swing styles you are probably thinking where you should start or which one will be the best fit for me?

To answer that question many beginners just decide to pay for professional golf lessons where they are taught the basics and then mold their own style into it automatically.  Problem with professional golf lessons is that they can cost quite a bit of money.

However, the good news is that the basic aspects of golf can be fairly easy to learn on your own if you understand the main concepts behind them.

Once you learned the basics of a golf swing it is very important that you practice your swing at a driving range before you play a round of golf.  This will not only help you get used to your swing, but also help fix any problems that might occur.

Throughout the next couple sections I will give some golf swing tips on each aspect of the swing that will hopefully help give you a basic overview of how to improve golf swing.
