You will neither be able to recall a single sentence from the book which you have just finished reading, nor will you be able to relate a chapter from it when asked to do so.

In fact, in all creative matters that also include golf, application of mind is very significant indeed.

And now let us dig a bit deeper and go into the subconscious mind while taking that swing, cutting out your conscious mind for the time being.

When you are going to take a swing, forget about the textbook formula of keeping the body straight, not moving the head or shank, etc. Instead, calm yourself, take a deep breath, try to visualize where you want the ball to go – its trajectory and path and perhaps its manner of landing and then take the action.

In other words – get involved completely with your mind and soul, and do not be there just physically. If you do this ninety to hundred percent of the time you will achieve your goal.

The Mental Golf Game Needs Mental Awareness,  Pre-Planning and Golf Confidence

It is also good to remember that unlike other sports, golf requires a special degree of pre-planning and mental awareness.

A golfer has plenty of time to think about their shot before they execute it, this time is extremely important and must be used in the right way.  You don’t want to think about your surrounding or what ifs before right before you hit the ball this could lead to lack of confidence and mess up your swing.

Make sure that before you even set up your golf stance you know where and how you are going to hit your shot and then just go and do it with all the confidence in the world without any doubts.  You will get much better results this way.

In golf, you need to take your time, do the necessary mental calculations and then take the swing. Of course, you need some mental control and golf confidence to foresee how the ball will behave.

Also important is the mental alertness that involves looking at your surroundings, the direction of the wind, its speed, variation, angle of contact with the ball, etc.  But this should be done before you swing.

The mental golf game is a very important part of your golf game if not handled in the right way with the right amount of golf confidence your golf game could struggle.

A good golfer has to build self-confidence to become a winner. And this confidence comes from practice and absolute mental control. When a person is near the tee, he forgets about everything else and concentrates on the swing only. I would suggest the same principle to you to succeed.
